How we use it

We use waitlist information to manage early access, send launch updates, understand where renter and lender interest exists, and protect the signup form from misuse.

Abuse-prevention data

When you submit the form, we create a keyed pseudonymous identifier from your IP address to limit repeated submissions and investigate misuse. We do not store the raw IP address in the waitlist record. Our hosting security logs may separately record your IP address and request details; we use those logs for security, troubleshooting, and abuse response and retain them according to our approved infrastructure-log policy. Rate-limit events older than 24 hours no longer affect submission limits and are pruned when the form is processed again; backup copies remain until their approved expiry. The pseudonymous identifier in an accepted signup is kept and deleted with that waitlist record.

Service providers

We may use hosting, database, security, and email-delivery providers to operate the waitlist. They receive only the information needed to provide those services on our behalf.

How long we keep it

We keep accepted waitlist records, including their pseudonymous abuse-prevention identifiers, while preparing and managing Gear2Peer's launch, unless you ask us to remove them sooner or we need to retain limited records for security or legal reasons.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe using the link in any waitlist email. You can also ask to access, correct, or delete your waitlist information by emailing tache@gear2peer.ca.

Updates

We may update this notice as the waitlist changes. The current version is dated August 12, 2026.
